Recipe: How to cut and make crispy potato wedges?

Ingredients

  • 9 medium potatoes with peel
  • 12 tablespoons of salt
  • 12 tablespoons of pepper
  • 12 tablespoons paprika
  • 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • 1 liter of oil
  • 3 cups of all-purpose wheat flour

Step by step to cook potato wedges

Step 1

Cut the potato into four equal parts and divide each piece into two pieces. 

Step 2

Heat enough oil in a pan or pot; must be covered.

Step 3

In a clean plastic bag, mix the salt with the pepper, cornstarch, flour, garlic, and paprika. 

Step 4

Put the potatoes in the bag with the previous mixture until they are impregnated with all the ingredients.

Step 5

Fry in hot oil in parts until golden brown and crisp; if you add all the amount of potatoes they can get crushed.    

Step 6

Place an absorbent paper towel inside a container to remove excess oil. 

Gastronomic tip for potato wedges

To make baked potatoes you need to boil them with salt, peel them, and cut them into medium wedges. Then place them on a baking tray mixed with paprika, salt, garlic powder, pepper, and olive oil. Bake for 10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius or until well cooked and soft. Flip them when necessary.  Also, you can accompany it with your favorite dip, ketchup, or yellow cheese with nachos and meat

Nutritional tip for potato wedges

To avoid using oil and have a healthier meal, you can cook them in an air fryer. To do this, boil them with salt, cut them into wedges, and cover them with the mixture from step 3. Place them on the tray and bake for 10 or 15 minutes. The time will depend on how crispy you want them. Potatoes are also a 100% natural source of energy and contain vitamin C, B6, B3, and B9, as well as antioxidants and essential nutrients for the body.
