Ingredients

To prepare homemade mashed potatoes you need the following ingredients:

  • 2 ½ potatoes
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter or margarine at room temperature
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Peeled and minced garlic
  • Chopped parsley
  • 1 ½ whole milk

Step 1

In a large pot, cook the potatoes with their skins and salt to taste until they are soft to be able to peel them…

Mash the peeled potatoes in a clean, dry bowl and toss with the finely chopped parsley.

Step 3

In a pan or pot with Teflon or non-stick, melt half the stick of butter or whatever is necessary and sauté the minced garlic until it turns transparent. 

Step 4

Place the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it boils.

Step 5

In the pan with butter and garlic, add the mashed potatoes with the parsley and milk little by little until you get the desired consistency.

Step 6

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 7

Serve on the plate and add more parsley to taste.

Gastronomic tip

If you wish, you can add a pinch of nutmeg, curry, chives, or paprika and change the cow’s milk for coconut milk for an exotic and different touch.

You can also add a little mozzarella or Roquefort cheese to the hot potatoes for a different consistency.
