Easy and simple dough for Argentine empanadas

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1/4 sifted wheat flour
  • 1 yolk
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 30 grams of butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 tablespoon of oil
  • 60 ml of milk
  • 1 beaten egg

Filling 

  • Ground meat already cooked to taste
  • Raisins
  • Green pitted olives in slices
  • 1 boiled egg in quarters
  • Chimichurri sauce

Argentine empanadas step by step

Step 1

On a flat and clean surface, form a volcano of flour and place the egg, oil, sugar, salt, and butter in the center.

Step 2

Knead vigorously and add the milk little by little. 

Step 3

When the dough no longer has lumps and does not stick to your hands, roll it out on the same floured surface. Put some flour on your hands so it doesn’t stick. 

Step 4

Cut 10-centimeter circles and fill half with ground beef, boiled egg, and olives.

Step 5

Fold and close with the tips of a fork. 

Step 6

Brush with beaten egg.

Gastronomic tip

To cook them in the oven you must place them on a tray with star paper, varnish with beaten egg and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes or until necessary.

Nutritional tip

Cooking them in an air fryer just spraying a little oil on top will omit the excess fat.
