With the grandma flavor, this is how this preparation of homemade orange bread will be spongy and tan to accompany with a cup of chocolate.

The story goes that orange bread originated in 1490 when Ughetto Atellani de Futi, a young aristocrat, fell in love with the daughter of a Milanese pastry chef. To get her love, he pretended to be an apprentice pastry chef and created a fruit-based bread flavored with orange and lemon. Here we show you how to cook it.

Recipe for homemade orange bread-like grandma’s

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of oil
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1/2 orange peel or essence
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon of butter

Step by step to prepare and cook the orange bread recipe on the stove

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Step 2

Grease the bottom and sides of a baking pan with butter and dust with flour. remove the waste.

Step 3

In a blender, beat the oil, sugar, orange juice, eggs and peel or essence for about 5 minutes. 

Step 4

Add the all-purpose flour with the salt and baking powder and beat for another 5 minutes. 

Step 5

Scrape off any residue from the sides of the blender and blend for a minute.

Step 6

Pour into the greased mold and hit it a couple of times on something firm to get the air out.

Step 7

Bake for around 35 to 45 minutes. Perform the toothpick test, which should come out dry.

Step 8

Decorate with icing sugar and a couple of red fruits with mint leaves. It also accompanies with a touch of milk.

To make it fluffy, try not to over-beat the mixture and do not open the stove oven many times. If you wish, add a splash of milk so that you do not have a hard time blending the ingredients.
