Prepare homemade shortbread Butter cookies with this recipe using only 5 ingredients. The butter base will give them that delicious consistency that makes them almost melt in your mouth.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of butter at room temperature
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2/3 sifted icing sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 250 grams of sifted flour

Cookies with butter step by step

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. 

Step 2

Mass whit your hands to cream the butter together with the sugar until it begins to change color and is creamy. Add the egg yolk and vanilla and continue creaming, finally add the flour and baking powder until there are no lumps

Step 3

You can lean on a mixer. When you have a ball of homogeneous dough, wrap it with plastic wrap and let it rest in a bowl for an hour in the refrigerator.

Step 4

Remove the dough from the refrigerator and spread with the support of a rolling pin on a previously floured flat surface. Use shape cutters to form the cookies.

Step 5

Place them on the tray with star paper and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Regularly check its cooking since it is fast.  

Gastronomic tip

To make the star shape of the “pastisetas”, fill a pastry bag with a star tip with the mixture and place them on the tray. follow step 5.
